No Struggle, No Progress

Remember Me

Bobby "BJ" Bass Jr. was born on January 9, 1998, in Monroe, LA, to Rennada Smith and Bobby Bass Sr. From an early age, his life reflected a strong foundation of faith as he accepted Christ into his heart. A proud graduate of Neville High School in 2017, BJ pursued his dreams by completing his studies at Diesel Driving Academy in 2019. Inspired by his father, he initially aspired to build a career as a long-haul truck driver. However, his love for his family led him to transition to local employment, allowing him to spend more time with those he held dear.

BJ was a son, brother, and father who embodied kindness, strength, and immense potential. He was a proud and devoted big brother to Angel and Renzavion, serving as a role model and source of guidance. His gentle demeanor, warm personality, and respect for others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

On November 17, 2024, BJ's life was tragically cut short in a fatal accident on Jackson St. in Monroe, LA. Although his time on earth was brief, it was filled with love, purpose, and unforgettable moments. He was deeply cherished by his family, friends, and community, leaving behind a legacy of love and countless memories.

BJ is survived by his parents, Bobby Bass Sr. and Rennada Smith Bass; his children, Bryson and Sendeyas Bass, with a baby girl, Breeze, expected in December 2024; his siblings, Angel and Renzavion Bass; his maternal grandparents, Grenda and Joseph Smith Jr.; his paternal grandfather, Charles Orange; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services honoring BJ's life were held on November 23, 2024, at St. James No. Two Baptist Church in Monroe, LA.

Though he is no longer physically present, BJ's spirit and the love he shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. A life full of promise, gone too soon but never forgotten.
