On Thursday, November 14, 2024, comrades from F.D. Thompson Post 521 of the American Legion, at 1211 Powell Ave. in Monroe, Louisiana, were in attendance at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home Ancillary Meeting where plans for major remodeling to the home were unveiled. Those plans calls for remodeling all the rooms with upgraded bathroom amenities as well as improvements to the common areas on all four wings at the home. A check for $1,500.00 was donated by Post 521 to aide in funding this project.
