Dollar Store Thieves

Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Two men are behind bars for their alleged involvement in a series of thefts committed at area Dollar General stores. According to law enforcement authorities from Ouachita and Lincoln Parishes, the suspects, identified as 29-year-old Jeremy Hardyway and 32-year-old Dominique Richards, have been arrested in connection with the thefts.

Authorities stated that on at least two occasions, the suspects entered the Dollar General located on Glen Acres in West Monroe, where one of the crimes allegedly occurred on October 11, 2024. The suspects reportedly loaded two shopping carts with merchandise, concealed the items in large trash cans, and then fled the store with the stolen goods. The same tactic was allegedly used on October 13, 2024, at a Dollar General on Hwy 80 West in Calhoun.

Law enforcement learned from a Dollar General Regional Manager that the suspects had committed similar crimes in the Ruston and Farmerville areas. After identifying the suspects, authorities issued felony theft warrants for their arrests in each incident.

On October 15, 2024, the suspects' vehicle was spotted entering Ouachita Parish from Lincoln Parish on I-20. A traffic stop was conducted, and both suspects were found in the vehicle. They were arrested and booked at the Ouachita Correctional Center (OCC) on two counts of Felony Theft.
