Hurricane Helene came and did what all-natural weather systems do when they strike highly populated areas in countries where they are known to happen. The thing about hurricanes is that they give us ample warnings before they strike thanks to modern weather technology. Most people will heed the advice of trained meteorologists who spend hours analyzing where hurricanes are most likely to strike. Have you noticed one thing when meteorologists are disseminating critical information, that is one of the things that some politicians deem "not woke"? Just about everything that some politicians disagree on with their opponents is called woke, but not the weather, except when it comes to climate change. We have been told for decades that climate change is responsible for storms such as tornadoes and hurricanes occurring more frequently and more deadly. Instead of listening to the science, some politicians call others woke hoping that those that follow them will ignore the science, as the Bible does not explain how hurricanes form. Helene left many areas of the southeast devastated leaving over a hundred dead and the cost in the billions. Despite the toll of human suffering that is going on, some politicians are using the moments to criticize how the current administration is responding to the situation. Folks, this is not America's first rodeo in dealing with hurricanes. The Biden administration is doing what it will take to help restore communities instead of just showing up for a photo-op. A lot of criticism is being directed at Vice President Kamala Harris simply because she is doing her job as vice president by visiting communities as soon as she can, as other officials within the Biden administration will be doing. Some politicians will try to portray Harris as "being political" by trying to show that what she is doing is "for her benefit" while America is being destroyed by immigrants eating people's cats and dogs. The federal government will do its part in helping people restore their lives, but in the eyes of some politicians, it will never be enough, even as they continue to deny climate change. If the election wasn't this year, there wouldn't have been one word about upmanship, but for one certain politician, this is do-or-die for him, as a potential jail cell awaits. America will survive, the dead will be remembered, as politics will continue to move/guide the direction of this nation. Too bad that it can't move hurricanes away or take climate change more seriously. Since we can't stop hurricanes by dropping nuclear bombs in them, we can do something about climate change. Remember, the world is watching. So is God.
