No Struggle, No Progress
A verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation between an intoxicated girlfriend and a mother, who fought with a victim and her son on September 28, 2024, in Monroe, LA. The non-live-in girlfriend, identified as Brianna Hutchinson, struck the victim in the face twice and poured beer on him. When police arrived, they detected a strong odor of alcohol on Hutchinson. After police made contact with Hutchinson, she attempted to retreat inside her residence, shutting the door behind her. An officer grabbed her forearm, pulling her outside as she resisted, pulling both arms away from the officers. Despite being instructed to stop resisting, officers were eventually able to handcuff Hutchinson and advised her again of her Miranda Rights. While being taken into custody, Hutchinson pleaded that she hadn't done anything wrong. Officers explained multiple times why she was being arrested, but she continued to yell and interrupt. The suspect did not provide a full statement nor did she cooperate with the officers. Hutchinson was arrested and booked on charges of Domestic Abuse Battery, Child Endangerment, and Resisting an Officer. There are three sides to every story. This was one side of the story. The Monroe Dispatch welcomes another or the other side of this story.
