No Struggle, No Progress
As the 2024 presidential election trudges on, voters will hear and see things that are true, while many of them will not be true. Campaigns, especially dishonest ones are notorious for saying things that they know are not true, but as long as they don't have to prove what they are saying, it's the old "trust me" con that their base will believe. Donald Trump is famous for saying at his rallies for telling his voters “What he heard" without offering any substance to some of the wild things that he tells them because they are "like Mikey", they will eat it up. Remember when Trump started saying that Haitians in Ohio were "eating cats and dogs" while authorities were saying that his claims were not true? Folks, it is so bad that the media sent reporters to Ohio just to confirm such an outlandish statement by a major presidential nominee was not true, shows you just how far the nation has fallen. If the authorities tell us to stay away despite what Trump says and as some in the media remain fixated on because of what Trump and J.D. Vance say, it is past time to not believe all that we hear. Nonetheless, that is the Republicans' game plan. No polices or substance to run, but let the name calling continue and play to people's senses of what is real and what is not. One can also see why Trump or Vance doesn't want to debate Vice President Harris or Gov. Tim Walz, as both of them would have a field day with Trump and Vance. Trump and Vance are failing on issues as immigration because of what they are saying about the debunked cat-and-dog issue is clearly about racism, not solving any problems. Republicans in Congress led by "Moses" Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana, had to cave to Democrats over not letting the government run out of money despite Trump wanting to let the government shut down. I thought Moses listened to the "voice of God" and not to someone who appears to not "know" God. To give a good example of "believing what I say and not what you see", was by Vance. Republicans are howling about "high prices" as if they have a plan to do something about it. Tariffs will not work, as it is a "tax" that the American people will pay, and Trump and Speaker Johnson so very well know. Vance was in supermarket recently "complaining" about the high price of eggs. He blames the high prices on the Biden-Harris administration, even though prices are set by corporations. Vance held up a carton of eggs priced at $3.99, but didn't pledge what he and Trump would do. To the average voter, they would believe that Vance was "spot on", but he was standing by a display where the price of the eggs was $2.99, not the $3.99 that he said a dozen eggs would cost. He did not bother to look at the prices before he picked up a carton. Or did he? And besides, Vance was holding up a three-dozen carton, not a dozen. But who cares? Their motto is believe what we say, not what you see, not if you take a closer look at what we are saying. That's their game plan. Remember, the world is watching. So is God.
