Hood Shooting 16 Shots

Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An out-of-town individual was arrested after being involved in a shooting that allegedly occurred on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. The Sunday, September 22, 2024, shooting resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old St. Mary Parish resident Devin A. Trouilliet shortly thereafter. According to the Monroe Police Department (MPD), officers on the scene allegedly observed approximately 16 bullet holes at the property where a weapon was located. The shell casings allegedly did not match the weapon found at the scene. When contact was made with the suspect, Trouilliet allegedly informed officers that the shooting occurred after the victim allegedly threatened to kill his family. Trouilliet reportedly told the officers, "I snapped, and I shot." He was placed under arrest and charged with the following: Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Illegal Use of Weapons, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. There is a B.A.L.M. in Monroe and the U.S., a spiritual solution to a social problem. A B.A.L.M. in Monroe and the U.S. is a collaborative plan that every citizen, elected and appointed official, clergy, and organization can participate in to help improve the image of Monroe and the U.S. while inspiring at-risk males and females to take more responsibility for their actions and respect the lives of others. This balanced approach aims to lower the violent crime and murder rate in Monroe, LA and the U.S. Praise God for law enforcement. There are three sides to every story.
