After five years of dedication, the filmmakers are eager to share their film with the community, especially with those who participated and supported the project. Following the screening, co-directors Selina Lewis Davidson and Macky Alston will participate in a Q&A session to discuss the film.

Film Synopsis: Acts of Reparation follows two long-time friends, Selina, who is Black, and Macky, who is white, as they explore the concept of reparations through their personal histories. As genealogy enthusiasts, they journey to the southern United States to confront and reclaim their roots, evolving from awkward outsiders into members of larger kinship networks. Their journey—through lost cemeteries, discovered diaries, and ancestral stories—leads to unexpected discoveries that transform their friendship, families, and communities. In Monroe, Louisiana, Selina gathers stories from a sisterhood of great aunts to uncover hidden family histories. In Penfield, Georgia, Macky challenges his family's inherited privilege and advocates for supporting local Black leaders.

Produced by First Date Films/Greenhouse Pictures, in association with Chicken & Egg Pictures and the Compton Foundation, Acts of Reparation showcases the transformative power of everyday Americans working for change.
