Campaign Year Bad Look for Nation

For the second time in two months, Secret Service agents have had to intervene in an incident to protect the life of Donald Trump. The latest incident occurred Sunday (Sept. 15, 2024) at Trump's Florida Golf Course where an armed white male allegedly pointed an AK-style weapon where Trump was golfing. Quick action by federal agents who were protecting Trump prevented what may have been an assassination's attempt, as shots were fired at the individual. As of press time, the individual identified as Ryan Wesley Routh is being held on federal gun crimes charges. As investigations are ongoing by authorities, Congress will do its part whether on a partisan or bi-partisan level is up to those who are in control of the House. Sunday's incident once again shows the world that America is not ready to follow the lead of other nations when it comes to confronting the rhetoric from those leaders who espouse violence as a way to gain/retain power. Elon Musk is alleged to have said on X "why no one" is trying to kill President Biden and Vice President Harris, as they are trying to kill Trump. Following severe backlash, the tweet was deleted. It shows from where the rhetoric to use violence is coming, as it is not from liberals as right-wing conservatives have alleged. Why would Musk want someone to take a shot at Biden or Harris and not answer to authorities, is perhaps a reason why other nations are not bewildered when violence surrounding divisive political rhetoric occurs. It has become a "way of life" in America, as school shootings according to what Trump's running mate J.D. Vance once said. Is there the will to curtail violent rhetoric, one has to ask before another life is lost? Has Donald Trump forgotten about the fireman killed at his rally in Pennsylvania by a gunman who identified himself as a Republican? And one other thing before we hear from some religious leaders that they "saw" what was going to happen to Trump and that God spared him to be president, don't believe it. They said that Trump was going to win in 2016. The fall of a nation can occur if it is defeated/conquered in war or from within because of internal conflicts. This campaign season is bringing this nation closer to an internal war where there is an endless supply of guns to make the Civil War look tame. Sadly, the rhetoric that we now hear is the "only way to save" America. What will make it even more sad, is that those (media/politicians/religious) who want to see violent civil unrest, are the ones who will not pick up a weapon. Remember, the world is watching. So is God.
