Bayou Junior Techies Shine at (Billion Dollar Programs Available) BDPA 2024 Conference Award Ceremony Monroe, LA - The Bayou Junior Techies celebrated in a special awards ceremony hosted by the BDPA Northeast Louisiana STEAM Academy to honor their remarkable achievements at the BDPA 2024 Conference in Atlanta, GA recently. The event, held at Carroll High School in Monroe LA, recognized the students' excellence in various competitions, with each receiving individual trophies for their success on Thursday August 29, 2024. The Young Techies enthusiasts stood out in the IT Conference and the State Farm Esports competition, where their skills in game development and coding earned them top honors. The ceremony was a proud moment for the academy and the community, as it showcased the hard work, teamwork, and dedication of these promising Information Technology Professionals. Founder EJ Maxwell, who led the ceremony, expressed immense pride in the students' accomplishments, emphasizing the significance of their achievements on such a prominent stage. "These young talents demonstrated that with determination, creativity, and the right support, anything is possible," Maxwell said. "Their success is a testament to what can be achieved when we work together." One of the event's highlights was the recognition of OrriYana Randal, who was named the MVP for her stellar performance in the State Farm Esports tournament. As the only female to advance to the final round, OrriYana's journey was marked by resilience, battling through a tough overtime to secure her place among the top competitors. In addition to their esports achievements, the Bayou Junior Techies were commended for their dedication to learning Block Coding, Python, and JavaScript during an intensive 8-week summer program. All the students' proficiency in these areas played a critical role in their success at the conference, earning them gold medals for their efforts. The awards ceremony also acknowledged the unwavering support of the Parent Empowerment Village (PEVillage), who accompanied the Bayou Junior Techies to Atlanta, demonstrating team spirit and ensuring the students were prepared and motivated for their competitions. Maxwell extended heartfelt thanks to the individuals who contributed to the students' success, including LaTrice Smith and LaKeidra Randal, who coordinated extracurricular activities at the conference. Dewayne and LaToya, who provided chaperone services. Special recognition was given to Dominique, the trip's photographer and journalist, and Mr. Allen, who trained the students in coding through his engaging "The Allen Show" summer program. The academy's cognitive instructors-Ms. Natalie, Ms. Sharon Pleasant, and Ms. Pashen -were also praised for her project management training. EJ Maxwell closed the ceremony by expressing deep gratitude to Ms. Dorrethia Bennett, who provided an excellent working environment for the students to thrive as they prepared for the competition. "When we work Together, we Win," Maxwell affirmed, echoing the academy's commitment to fostering an environment where students can succeed through hard work and collaboration. The ceremony not only celebrated the students' victories but also reinforced the academy's mission to empower young minds through STEM and STEAM education, setting the stage for future success in Information Technology and beyond.
