Family Shooting Disturbing

Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The Monroe Police Department (MPD) has been investigating an incident near Bayou Bowl, where a shooting occurred. Officers responded to the establishment on August 30, 2024, where the victim was seriously injured. After days of investigation, several out-of-town suspects have been arrested and are now behind bars. According to MPD, 25-year-old Reginald Jackson Jr. traveled from Kansas to Monroe due to an alleged altercation with the victim, while allegedly texting other family members about where to confront the victim. The texting reportedly occurred over the 10-hour drive from Kansas to Bayou Bowl. Officials stated that Reginald Jackson Jr. was joined by his father, 45-year-old Reginald Jackson Sr., and his aunt. They allegedly parked behind the victim's vehicle to block an escape route, and another vehicle pulled in front of the victim's car.

Reginald Jr. approached the driver's side of the victim's vehicle and began punching the victim, while Reginald Sr. and 23-year-old Rashawn Jackson came from the rear of the vehicle. The victim attempted to make a U-turn in the parking lot to escape, as there was only one exit. As the victim tried to flee, they struck one of the suspects, and Rashawn Jackson allegedly fired two shots at the vehicle. The victim then crashed, ejecting a passenger onto the roadway. Reginald Sr. and Rashawn allegedly approached the victim and struck them multiple times. The suspects were reportedly armed with two firearms, two small sledgehammers, and a bat. The victim was transported to a hospital in Shreveport for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The three suspects were taken to Ouachita Correctional Center (OCC) and booked on the following charges: Reginald Jackson Sr. and Reginald Jackson Jr. were charged with Simple Battery, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, and Criminal Conspiracy. Rashawn Jackson was charged with Simple Battery, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Criminal Conspiracy, and Illegal Use of Weapons. Bond for Reginald Sr. was set at $60,000, for Reginald Jr. at $61,500, and for Rashawn Jackson at $85,000. There are three sides to every story.
