Dr. Bernard Menyweather is a native of Monroe, Louisiana. He has been married to Thelma Menyweather for fifty-seven years and has one daughter, and two grandsons. He received his B. S. degree in 1965 from Grambling State University and from Northeast Louisiana University a master's in art education in 1974, a master's plus thirty hours in 1975, secondary and combination school principal certification in 1977 and education specialist with a major in supervision in 1979. Menyweather is also a graduate from Louisiana Baptist University and Theological Seminary with a PH.D. in Systematic Theology, on May 7, 2021.

Dr. Bernard Menyweather was taught all basic liberties and rights were guaranteed to every citizen. Therefore, He was filled with uncertainty about the mal-treatment of Black, brown, and poor citizens in our society. He researched and by effective study and careful observation of human nature, he found an attribute that can draw the human race closer to true justice. The attribute is love for God and each other. Dr. Menyweather believes if Black, brown, and poor America is to become free from bondage, they must put God first, stay focused, and have good work ethics. It was and is entrenched in our hearts that God is sovereign and, thus, is in control of all creations. Dr, Martin Luther King Jr., stated, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to Justice everywhere." He also said, "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends to Justice," Dr. Bernard Menyweather's life experiences and these powerful quotes from Dr. King, gave birth to the book, "Out of Africa a Long Road to Justice." Faith in God is what inspired Dr. Menyweather to create and write stories about men and women who trust in God who gives them courage and strength in the worst of times. Grace comes from God. Humanity should never stop praising and worshiping Him. He has demonstrated His love, mercy, and grace for us by what He has done and is doing, and His future plan for humanity.
