No Struggle, No Progress
Disclaimer: All persons are innocent until proven guilty. An Ouachita Parish man is dead following a tragic shooting that occurred on Barrington Dr. in Monroe, LA. According to the Monroe Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting on Saturday, July 20, 2024. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Kialynshia Jordan, who allegedly stated that she had shot an individual during an altercation. According to police, Jordan waived her Miranda Rights and told officers that she and the victim had argued, which escalated into a physical confrontation. Surveillance video allegedly showed the victim pushing Jordan into some shrubbery. Jordan is said to have gone into a residence, retrieved a handgun, and returned outside to confront the victim, firing two shots. The victim attempted to flee but was struck by the gunfire. The report indicates that the victim, Shawn Trimble, was declared deceased after suffering two gunshot wounds to the back. Jordan was arrested and charged with Second-Degree Murder.
