Charlotte Flintroy's Treasured Memory

Charlotte Lynette Flintroy was born in Monroe Louisiana to parents Martha and Willie Flintroy. Charlotte attended Little Flower Catholic School from kindergarten until her 12th grade graduation in 1961. Charlotte passed away on June 25, 2024, in Oakland California. Charlotte married Curtis Martin Jr. and immediately started a family of her own with her first child Lynette Marie Martin and her second child Elvenia Theresa Martin a year later who were both born in Monroe Louisiana. In 1964 Charlotte and Curtis moved their family to East Oakland, CA where she worked for Pacific Bell Telephone Company and had her third, fourth and fifth child Martha Olivia Martin, only son Curtis Martin III and Crystal Joy Martin all were born in Oakland CA In 1976 Charlotte became a AC Transit bus driver where she worked until a medical retirement in early 2000's. Charlotte was a devout Catholic all of her life and attended both St. Benedict Catholic Church and St. Patrick's Catholic Church while residing in Oakland.

Charlotte would later became a grandmother of 4 beautiful boys, Robert Stroud , Raphael Martin Stroud, Curtis Martin IV and Christian Terrell Martin. Charlotte was proceeded in death by parents Martha T. Caston and Willie Flintroy, daughter Martha Olivia Martin, Aunts Margaret Dorsey and Elvenia Haynes, Uncle John F. Thompson, Brother Charles Flintroy and niece Lynn Flintroy. She leaves behind her Children to cherish her memory; Lynette Marie Martin of Oakland CA, Theresa Martin-Stroud (Rhuepell) of Suisun City CA, Curtis Martin III of Oakland CA Crystal Joy Martin and son in law to be Marcus Warren Shepherd of Oakland CA. And a host of dear family and loving friends. Charlotte will be deeply missed and remembered, not only for her love and advocacy but also for her enduring kindness and loving Spirit. Funeral Services are Saturday July 27, 2024 at 11am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 1023 Peralta St. In Oakland CA. Colors are Maroon or Burgundy.
