Teen's Horrible Death

The signs of the times are screaming for us to pay more attention to our children and grandchildren, or they will fall prey to horrible experiences, death, or lifelong trauma. Our Black youth face dangers like never before. Their lives are being devoured either by death or prison. The Bible says, "Better is a poor but wise youth than an old but foolish king who no longer pays attention to warnings."

According to police on June 23, 2024, the Bastrop Police Department began an investigation into the discovery of a corpse found in the woods directly behind 1510 Daisy St. in Bastrop, LA. The body was eventually identified as Ashley Barnes, 14, who had been reported missing. Suspect Montrell D. Holmes, 44, was arrested on a Bastrop Police Department felony warrant for Second-degree Murder by the US Marshals Service in Arizona. Through a search warrant, cell phone tower pings were used to locate the suspect.
