Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. On March 30, 2024, a shooting occurred in Charles Johnson Park in Monroe LA, according to the Monroe Police Dept. At the time of the shooting, police made no arrests, though they had a suspect(s) under suspicion that were considered to a person of interest in the case. Two victims were injured in the shooting that happened in the 1400 block Bernstein Park Drive. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment. On June 27, 2024, the Monroe Police Dept. announced that they had arrested 19-year-old Trevon Harris as the alleged shooter. He was charged with 2 counts of Attempted Second-Degree murder. In addition to announcing the arrest, according to records, Harris had been arrested for Illegal Possession of a Firearm, Illegal Carrying of a Weapon and a drug-related crime. Young Blacks are endangered should have been declared an epidemic. The prison population is ballooning from hundred thousands to millions are falling to the game. Many parents are crying due the hardships of their children of death and incarceration. Its too late to close the gate after the horse has been stolen. Noone loves us as much as we do! Parents don't wait until its too late to pay attention to your children because someone else will. Before its too late, there is a B.A.L.M. in Monroe and the U.S., a spiritual solution to a social problem. A B.A.L.M. in Monroe is a collaborative plan that every citizen, elected and appointed official, clergy, and organization can participate in to help improve the image of Monroe while inspiring at-risk males to take more responsibility for their actions and respect the lives of others. This balanced approach aims to lower the violent crime and murder rate in Monroe, LA. Praise God for law enforcement.
