Officers Stabbed Attacker Lives

Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. A suspect is fortunate to be alive after he was involved in an altercation with parish deputies. According to police reports, on June 6, 2024, around 8:26 p.m., deputies responded to a call that suspect Colby Bazan, 23, allegedly threatened some family members. Deputies quickly arrived at the scene, but the suspect had already left. An arrest warrant was issued for simple assault and criminal trespass against Bazan. Contact was made with Bazan over the phone, and he agreed to surrender at the Sheriff's office. However, after Bazan arrived to turn himself in, he ran away on foot after being told that he was under arrest. Deputies soon caught up with Bazan, and a physical altercation ensued. During the altercation, Bazan allegedly produced a knife and stabbed two deputies multiple times. He was disarmed by deputies, taken into custody, and transported to the Richland Parish Detention Center. Bazan was booked for simple assault, criminal trespass, and three counts of attempted first-degree murder on a police officer. His bond was set at $1,000,000. The deputies were taken to Richardson Medical Center, where they were treated for their injuries and have since been released. A fight with officers that resulted in multiple injuries from stab wounds, and the alleged suspect lives to talk about it.
