On June 9, 2024, in Monroe, LA, a vehicle tried to force another off the road. During the incident, the front seat passenger of the aggressor's vehicle pointed a gun at the victim. Although the victim only knew the suspect's nickname, they were able to provide a photo and video of the suspect.
Police located the suspect's vehicle at a dead end on White and Rogers St. and held it at gunpoint. After the vehicle stopped, officers removed the occupants one by one. Jaquari Gaines, the front seat passenger, was taken out and during a pat-down, officers found a Canik 9mm handgun in his right pant pocket. An NCIC search revealed the firearm was stolen. Gaines was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal possession of a stolen firearm. There is a B.A.L.M. in Monroe, a spiritual solution to a social problem.
