Library Hot Dog Adventure

Carver-McDonald Branch Library at 2941 Renwick St., Monroe, LA will host a community program on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with presenter Chris Lewis, owner of the Coney Island Connection and Bigman Trucking.

Meet Chris Lewis, a dynamic force at 34, not just as the successful owner of Coney Island Connection and Bigman Trucking but as a relentless seeker of impact and adventure. Graduating from the University of Louisiana at Monroe's School of Private Investigation, Chris is now seeking a Criminal Justice degree at Louisiana State University.

Beyond the boardroom, Chris is a devoted family man, juggling engagements and five kids-two girls and three boys. When he's not making waves in business, worshiping God at one of our local church programs, or going on thrilling four-wheeler rides and exploring new horizons with his fiancé.

Chris's community spirit is a beacon, earning him multiple recognitions and awards, among them the Community Service Award from the NAACP. During the Jackson, MS, water crisis, he took charge, delivering hope with multiple 18-wheelers of drinking water and aiding Rolling Fork, MS, post-tornado with over a ton of supplies.

But Chris isn't just a crisis responder; he's been voted King of the local Krewe De Riviere Mardi Parade with a whopping 12,000 votes; he's a beacon of inspiration. His generosity is central to his purpose: raising $3,000 for a local child battling cancer, donating Coney Island Connection's Saturday sales to the Ronald McDonald House annually, providing free monthly meals to a local business, and countless other philanthropic actions.

Chris is honored to be working daily with the honorable Rep. Adrian Fisher as district 16 community relations coordinator.

Chris's favorite quote, "I can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone, and if we do that, we're better together," is more than words; it's a mantra. Rooted in faith as an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, Chris isn't just a doer; he's a trendsetter, constantly weaving dynamic relationships within the community and inviting others to join his mission.
