Cherished Memories

Willie Mae Jackson Coleman departed this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the age of 81. She had been a resident of the Booker T. community in Monroe, LA since 1965. She was the mother of James Earl Jackson, Sr., the late Rev. Eddie Ray Jackson, and Michael Dewayne Jackson. A faithful member of Zion Spring Missionary Baptist Church from 1970 until her passing, she was known for her exceptional cooking skills. Willie Mae retired on December 31, 2021, at the age of 79, after 40 years of service in the cafeteria at Lincoln Elementary School, now Roy Shelling Elementary School. She touched countless lives with her kindness and genuine expressions of love, reflecting the spirit of Christ. Visitation will be held from 5:30 - 7:00 PM on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Smith Funeral Home in Monroe, LA. Her homegoing celebration will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Faith Harvest Baptist Church, located at 3701 Nutland Rd. in Monroe, LA.
