No Struggle, No Progress
People are talking about Donald Trump and his "fitness" to serve as president when he suddenly appeared to "freeze" when he stopped talking for about 30 seconds while speaking to members of National Rifle Association (NRA) over the weekend. Some reports have said that Trump's "freeze" was more than 30 seconds and at times, his speech was incoherent. The Biden campaign naturally asserted that the episode clearly showed that Trump is unfit to serve as president. The full video clip showed the ex-president speaking and in the next second didn't say a word for what seemed to be "a long time", especially if one is giving a highly charged speech to excite the base. Nonetheless, the audience sat in eerie silence not saying a word or making any cheers as it waited to hear Trump continue his speech. After a long pause, Mr. Trump continued.
As it was a speech to the NRA, Trump played on the fears of the audience by reminding them that in a second term, Biden would "be coming" for their guns, while never citing a single example where that has happened in a Democrat administration. Truth hardly matters anymore in politics, as it is all about power and control. President Biden and Mr. Trump are both up in age where men/women do not hold the most stressful job on Earth. Neither man possesses the energy needed whether one wants to admit it or not, but at the present moment in time, it appears they are the only two options. Republicans must be afraid that Biden will win the debates and the presidency if they can't change voter's minds about Biden’s fitness for office. Both men have made many gaffes in the past and are sure to make more. Republicans are still trying to sell the narrative that Biden "was on something" as he delivered a fiery passionate in-your-face State of the Union speech several months ago. As always, Republicans haven't presented any evidence of Biden's medical condition, but again, truth doesn't matter. They will go on Fox and other right-wing media and throw stuff on the wall hoping something will stick. Democrats will no doubt use Mr. Trump's latest campaign incident to press their case that their man is better to serve. Trump is now trying to convince the base that what happened at the podium was done for "dramatic purposes". Many are saying that Trump appeared to be "lost", much like Mitch McConnell appeared to be on several occasions where he "froze" while speaking. He hasn't been heard from lately. Trump isn’t going anywhere. Neither is Biden. It will be left up to the voters to decide who will be going back home to stay. Remember, the world is watching. So is God.
