No Struggle, No Progress

Daniels' Testimony Trump Nightmare

Tuesday March 7 was a day in Donald Trump's life that he would not like to live over. Tuesday was the day that Stephanie Clifford otherwise known to the world as Stormy Daniels testified in the hush money trial where Trump is accused of paying Clifford/Daniels thousands of dollars for her to keep quiet over an alleged sexual encounter with Trump. The encounter happened back in 2006, long before Trump entered into politics because he was on top of the world as a businessman and television star on his "Apprentice" show. As the 2016 presidential election neared, word got out that Daniels wanted to tell her side of what happened after the infamous release of the "Hollywood Sex Tape" of Trump telling the world that he would just grab women by the "you know where", because as a star, one "could get away" with it. When Trump heard of Daniels's intentions to go public just before voters, especially conservative ones were about to cast their votes, Trump allegedly through his then lawyer Michael Cohen and some acquaintances in the publishing world allegedly paid off Daniels to keep quiet. It worked, Trump was elected president and the story went away. Well, not completely. Daniels would write a book, be sued for violating an NDA and get screwed over by her own attorney who is serving a jail sentence. While the media sees Trump's trial over hush money payments, it is actually over falsifying campaign records, a violation of federal law. Daniels' testimony and that of other witnesses is important to establish timelines in the money coverup, but also to establish the fact if Trump and Daniels did indeed have a one-night stand while Melanie was pregnant their youngest son. Trump and his lawyers have used many legal tactics as well as Trump's public statements about the judge and court employees on social media and rallies to bolster his case in the arena of public opinion, perhaps hoping that the jury will somehow reach a hung jury verdict. The jury is now hearing details that can't be refuted if written in a book, as every word being said in the courtroom is a matter of a legal proceeding that is a part of public record from what is being reported from the courthouse. Now that Trump has been threatened with jail incarceration for violating gag orders, his mouth which is his biggest weapon has been silenced. There have been reports that Trump may take an occasional doze while in court, maybe from not sleeping well at night. One other thing that may be keeping Trump up at night, is that his army of protesters are nowhere to be seen. That plus the fact that his family is not there in bigly numbers. Trump is clinging to the hope that a victory in November will save him. But as of now the forecast is Stormy. Remember, the world is watching. So is God.
