Marcus "Tutti Frutti" Johnson's Homegoing

"Think of him still as you may, remember he's not dead, he's just away. They say time heals, but nothing can change the way that I feel."

God smiled on Alex Johnson Sr. & Stella Mae Parker when He sent a gift of love in the form of Marcus 'Tutti Frutti' Johnson. God claimed His gift on May 4, 2024. 'Tutti Frutti', as he was affectionately known, attended Richwood High School in Monroe, Louisiana, and later went to the Job Corp in San Marcos, TX. He was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church under Rev. W.M. Mathis.

Marcus later moved to Houston, TX where he met and married his love, Barbara Davis Johnson, to this union one daughter was born, Tonya Johnson-Jones. He also has a beloved step-son, Ricky Russ. Marcus was employed with the City of Houston as an Environmental Tech until he later moved to Atlanta, GA. He later moved back to Monroe, LA after retiring from City of Atlanta. Marcus is preceded in death by his mother, Stella Parker, father, Alex Johnson, Sr. and brother James Edward Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memories, brother-Alex "Sugarman" Johnson, Jr.; Alexandria, LA; sister-Patricia "Sutea" Johnson; Monroe, LA wife, Barbara Davis Johnson; daughter-Tonya Johnson-Jones (Anthony); Ricky Russ, all of Houston, TX granddaughter-Keyana Tompkins of Dallas, TX.; devoted nephews-Benjamin Brown II, Alex Brown and James Johnson of Monroe, LA; and a special friend-Juanita Latchison, Killeen, TX. Memorial services are Monday May 13, 2024 at 11am at Richwood Memorial Gardens at 2705 Richwood Road #a Richwood LA. Pastor Rose Briggs, Officiant
