No Struggle, No Progress
The City of Monroe, in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies Cities for Financial Empowerment, CityStart Financial Empowerment Summit as the final event in the City Start grant community engagement. This event, facilitated by Katrina Branson, is aimed at fostering discussions on financial empowerment and wealth equity in the black community on Friday May 3, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Terrace, on the 7th floor of the Library on the University of Louisiana Monroe’s campus. The CityStart Financial Empowerment Summit represents a crucial step in addressing the economic barriers faced by black residents. Through insightful panel discussions, engaging Q&A sessions, and the participation of local community vendors, attendees will have the opportunity to explore practical strategies and resources for achieving financial stability and prosperity. This summit, along with several weeks of community and stakeholder meetings, will inform a blueprint for implementing strategic steps within the City to help enable residents to gain financial freedom.
