Sherilyn Denise Bishop Benjamin was born in Monroe LA on March 5, 1957 to Magnolia Bishop and Milton Johnson Sr. Sherilyn accepted Christ at an early age. She was a Carroll High School 1974 Graduate and married high school sweetheart Gregory Benjamin. As a military wife and mother, she enjoyed working as a Human Resource manager with a strong work ethic also personified in her Christian service through witnessing and faithful service to the Lord. Sherilyn obtained degrees in Business Management and Human Resources retiring with 35 years. She made friends wherever she went with her infectious smile, and positive personality, using this as an opportunity to talk about Jesus, while serving others in love. Sherilyn faithfully served God at Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church carving her own lane as a pastor's wife for over 38 years. She went home to be with the Lord on March 13, 2024.Left to cherish incredible memories are husband Gregory Benjamin, children LaTrina Frazier (Eric), Latisha Jones (Brad), Gregory Benjamin ll, Nacole Shackleford, LaMarcus Higgins, sisters Dianne Bell (Willie), Mary Ann Johnson, Vanessa Tolliver, brothers Earl Shields, LB Higgins, Rev. Tharris Bishop, Gary Bishop (Lola), Milton Johnson Jr. (Carolyn), mother in love Mordess Benjamin and a host of family and friends. Sherilyn was preceded in death by her mother Magnolia Bishop, father Milton Johnson, brothers Isaiah Bishop, Frank Dickson, sisters Lillian Johnson and Mildred Williams. Sherilyn was not the average person, while a relationship with her made people better. Because of Sherilyn we are all better. Her funeral services were March 26, 2024 at Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church in Midwest City Oklahoma.
