March 2024 Election Results

In the recent March 2024 elections in Monroe and Richwood, several key positions were decided, shaping the future leadership of these communities. The incumbent Mayor Friday Ellis (I) secured a victory, retaining the mayoral seat for the city of Monroe. Gretchen Ezernack (R) emerged victorious in District 2, earning the councilman seat. Rodney McFarland (D) won the election for District 4, securing the councilman position.

The District 5 race will head into a run-off between Kema Dawson (D) and Verbon Muhammad, Sr. (D), as neither candidate secured a majority.

Gerald Brown (D) was re-elected as mayor of the town of Richwood. Janice Fleming (D), Deneitra L. Ross (D), Donald Richard (D), Simeon Profit (I), and Wysinger "Pep" Cleveland (D) were elected as Aldermen, forming the town's governing body.
