Faith That Astonishes

I love the Bible story in Matthew 8:5-13. It entails a beautiful encounter of a man of faith and Jesus. It tells of a centurion who came to Jesus on behalf of his servant, who he said was at home paralyzed. When Jesus asked to come and heal the servant, the centurion said that he was not worthy for Jesus to come to his home. He said that all Jesus had to do, was speak the Word, and his servant would be healed. He asked Jesus to speak the word, because he as a centurion/commander, understood what it was to be in authority and under authority as well. He said that when he told soldiers to go that they go and to come, that they come. He was telling Jesus, that he knows that healing has to go forth when Jesus commands it. He knew that Jesus had authority to just speak, and cause things to be. This man’s faith astonished the Lord. He had Jesus in awe, and because of his faith, his servant was healed in that moment. Now, what about you? What are you believing God for? Whether it’s healing, finances, a spouse, business, protection- whatever it is, have faith in God. You are not alone. He won’t fail you. For whatever it is, have the kind of faith that astonishes, even Jesus. Matthew 8:10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.
