No Struggle, No Progress
Margaret Evadell Parker Feazell answered the clarion call of the Master on Thursday, February 22, 2024, peacefully transitioning to join her loved ones around the Throne of God. She was the 3rd child of the late Arthur and Tillia Williams Parker; she grew up in the Mt. Pleasant community between West Monroe and Calhoun LA. A product of the public schools in Ouachita Parish, she graduated from Central High School. She earned a B.A. Degree in English/Speech & Drama from then Grambling College, a Master's Degree from Northeast Louisiana University and +30 hours from Louisiana Tech University. A profound orator, Margaret began her career as a Speech and Drama teacher at Thomastown High School in Tallulah, LA. She later moved to Monroe City Schools where she taught English at Carroll, Neville, and Wossman High Schools and retired as a Coordinator of Vocational Education in 1993. She then assumed the role of caregiver, providing care and support to her then aging mother and later to other close friends in the Monroe community. Her culinary skills matched those of any professional chef. A master of soul food (greens and okra were her specialty), a grill master, and a baker, she was in her element when preparing to feed family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and loved to grow her own veggies. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the New Light Baptist Church on 1623 S. 4th St. – Monroe, LA; Pastor James B. Johnson Officiating.
