Terrifying Gun Drawn

Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. In today's world, it's crucial to be aware of your surroundings at all times. The days of taking a walk outside your home without worry are long gone. Whether you're walking or driving, it's important to be alert. This reality became painfully clear for a local woman and her children.

Monroe Police responded to a report on February 12, 2024, involving a male who allegedly pointed a firearm at a woman while she was driving with her children along Forsythe Ave. The woman was in her vehicle when a male in a blue F-150 pulled up beside them.

The male driver, later identified as Austin Chandler Allen, allegedly pointed the firearm, causing the woman to enter a private parking lot. During the investigation, one of the victim's children reportedly told officers that the suspect tried to shoot them. Officers noted that the children were frightened by the incident.

Upon contact, Allen allegedly admitted to pointing the firearm at the vehicle. He was arrested on February 24, 2024, and charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
