Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Trey Holly, a former Union Parish High School standout and current LSU football star, issued a statement on Saturday, February 17, 2024, regarding his arrest following a shooting at a Farmerville, LA apartment complex. Holly, along with Jordan Jones, faces charges of Attempted Second Degree Murder and illegal use of Weapons on a Public Roadway. An 18-year-old juvenile is also charged with the same offenses, along with Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property and Illegal Possession of a handgun.
The arrests stem from a reported shooting involving multiple individuals at a Farmerville apartment on February 9, 2024, around 10:30 PM, according to the Union Parish and Farmerville police departments. LSU announced that Holly would be suspended indefinitely in accordance with school policy. In his statement, Holly asserted his innocence, stating, "I have been falsely identified, accused, and arrested. I am 100% innocent, and the people who know me know this is not my character at all." Holly claimed he was at home at the time of the incident and turned himself in upon learning of the arrest warrant to fully cooperate with authorities. Due to the ongoing investigation, Holly could not provide further details but expressed gratitude to his supporters and vowed to come back stronger. He concluded, "My story will be told one day, and it will be legendary."
