The Political Power of Just Being by local, talented Artist, Vitus Shell, November 13, 2023 – January 21, 2024. Vitus Shell is a mixed-media collage painter born in Monroe, LA, where he lives and works. His work is geared toward the black experience, giving agency to people from this community through powerful image identity, civil rights, and contemporary black culture. Museum's executive director, Ross Slacks said, "Working with Vitus Shell is an amazing opportunity for the museum. He is a well-known and celebrated artist whose work has been showcased across the United States. Art exhibit Bout It Bout It 3 is on display at Northeast Louisiana Delta African American Heritage Museum in Monroe LA.
