Monti Sharp: A Native Son Returning Home

Monroe, LA warmly embraces Monti Sharp, a name that resonates deeply within our community. From his early days on the Monroe Little Theatre stage to his time at Northeast Louisiana University, Monti has been an integral part of our local arts scene. Despite venturing to Charlotte, North Carolina, New York City, and finally settling in Los Angeles, he remains a cherished figure in our town.

Monti's journey has been marked by a multitude of achievements - captivating audiences on both the big and small screens, earning national acclaim as a television actor, and showcasing his talents in stage plays, movies, sitcoms, and commercials. In 2022, he treated Monroe to an art show at Revival Design & Consign, a local business that proudly displayed his artistic brilliance.

Now, Monti Sharp is returning to his roots, ready to unveil his expanded talents as an artist and painter. His upcoming art show promises to be a heartfelt event for our community, offering a glimpse into the evolution of a hometown talent. Though Monti's creations have found homes in private collections, his heart remains intertwined with our local arts community.

At the 2024 exhibition, we anticipate more than just an art show; we expect a reunion with a familiar face, a native son whose artistic journey has taken him from our town to the national stage - and back home. In a touching connection, one of Monti's creations, featuring his late father, civil rights attorney James Sharp, Jr., holds a place of honor in the Monroe City Court's collection. This poignant piece, on loan from the Court, will be a part of the upcoming exhibition, paying tribute to Monti's father and showcasing his own personal talent.
