Election Candidates Qualified

The list of qualified candidates for the March 23, 2024 election has been released. In the race for the city of Monroe's mayor position are Betty Ward Cooper, Friday Ellis, and Jamie Mayo; candidates for the town of Richwood's mayor position are Gerald Brown and Ashley Harris.

For the city of Monroe City Council, District 1, Douglas Harvey is running unopposed; District 2 features candidates Gretchen Ezernack and Herbert Herb Guillory; District 3 has Juanita G. Woods running unopposed; District 4 sees candidates L. Marie Brown, Carday Marshall Sr., and Rodney McFarland. In District 5, candidates Kema Dawson, Mondrian Monday Douglas, Carolyn Goodin, and Verbon Muhammad Sr. are vying for the position.

Many are in the running for Richwood Town Alderperson, including Eric Amaker, Wysinger Pep Cleveland, Janice Fleming, Edward L. Harris, Ernest Profit, Simeon Profit, Wilbert Reed Jr., Donald Richard, and Deneitra L. Ross, with five to be elected.
