No Struggle, No Progress
I would like to advise any parent reading this to keep praying, trust in God, and encourage your child as best as you can. Don't let them give up; instead, provide hope, even when they make mistakes. We all do; therefore, give them space for humanity.
My daughter is an honor student who consistently worked hard before college. During her time in college, like many others, she prioritized fun over education. I expressed my disapproval, but I also motivated her. Although she wasn't ready to finish at that time, she eventually became ready, and I was there for every step. I didn't try to force her, but I was honest about my feelings.
Now, she is a college graduate of Grambling State University, following in the footsteps of her grandfather (Perry Thomas) and her mother! I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to my daughter, Kataja Epting-Canales, for a job well done! She has now earned her degree (Bachelor of General Studies) and already has fantastic opportunities lined up. Way to go, Kataja! We are incredibly proud of you, and your grandfather would be too!
