Owl St. Shooting Victim Survives

There is good news on the home front. A local woman who was reportedly shot and killed on Owl Street on Sunday, December 3, 2023 did not die. An initial news report stated that the still unidentified woman was shot and taken to a local hospital, where it was reported that she died from her injuries. According to a news statement from the Monroe Police Department (MPD), the victim was transferred to a hospital in Shreveport. MPD made a correction concerning the incident on Monday, December 4, 2023, stating that the victim was recovering and her condition had "greatly improved." As of press time, the investigation is continuing, and the public is asked to share any information concerning the shooting by calling authorities at (318) 329-2600.
