No Struggle, No Progress
Rosie Lee Bias Williams was born in Monroe, LA, on April 23, 1943, to the late Andrew and Mary Bias Sr. and was called home on November 30, 2023. She was the eldest of 12 siblings and a graduate of Little Flower Academy. She went on to earn a degree as a surgery assistant from a community college.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Williams Sr., three children - Yolanda Bias, Chevain Bias, and Roosevilla Junaita Williams, three sisters - Dorothy Bias Shoulders, Sharon Bias Ward, Roberta Bias Marshall, and three brothers - Andrew Bias Jr., Norman Kennedy Bias, and Walter Bynum.
Left to cherish her memory and love are one daughter, Phyllis Latrice Williams; three sons - Loutron (Angelica) Bias, Chikiris Williams, and Roosevelt (Erica) Williams Jr., all of Monroe, LA. She is survived by five sisters - Darnella Ann Bias and Mary Ann (Jesse) Battle, both of Monroe, LA; five brothers - Robert Lee Bias and Johnny Lee (Viola) Bias, both of Monroe, LA, and Anthony (Sheila) Bias of Las Vegas, NV. She leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation is Friday, December 8, 2023, 6:00 - 7:00 PM at Tennant Funeral Home in Rayville, LA. Funeral services celebrating Rosie's life are on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 2:30 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Monroe, LA. The interment is at Antioch Cemetery in Rayville, LA. Following the service, a repast will be held at The Cookout on Desiard Street in Monroe, LA.
