No Struggle, No Progress
Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. A suspect wanted in an October shooting on Wendall Dr. in Monroe, LA has been arrested. The Monroe Police Department (MPD) recently announced that Thomas J. Little, who was allegedly involved in a shooting incident, had been wanted for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Attempted Second-Degree Murder. According to MPD, the incident happened on October 28, 2023, when three off-duty officers were working a detail at the Burg Jones Lane Housing Complex when the shooting occurred as officers responded to the shots fired. According to the report, officers made contact with a victim who informed them of the shooting. Officers were able to obtain video surveillance footage. As officers investigated the shooting, they were advised by the victim, who had arrived at a residence on Wendall Dr. and attempted to awaken a woman who lived with her children at the residence. However, the victim could not awaken the mother after having knocked on the front door, back door, and window of the residence. Officers then reported that an individual who arrived at the scene in a silver Ford F-150 truck wearing dark shorts and a yellow shirt and got out of the truck. The then suspect, now identified as Little, made contact with the victim allegedly with a firearm in his possession. Little and the victim were between two buildings engaged in a discussion when Little allegedly raised his firearm towards the victim's head. The victim quickly ran away, as Little allegedly fired 5-6 shots at the victim. The victim wasn't injured during the shooting. It was at that time that Little was identified as the suspect. On November 16, 2023 Little was charged and arrested with Attempted Second-Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
