No Struggle, No Progress
Willie Bernard Baker was born on June 11, 1949 to the late Thomas and Amie Baker. Willie was affectionately known by many as Boma. Wille was a really good person with a cool, calm, and collected demeanor. He had a unique style and was known as a jack of many trades, especially auto mechanics. He shared his knowledge of cars with many in his Renwick neighborhood where he grew up, influencing many young mechanics with his expertise. He worked as a machine operator at Auto Shred and Ark-LA Recycle for over 20 years. He died on November 11, 2023. His parents and sisters, Beatrice Baker and Mary Baker, preceded him in death. Left to cherish memories are three children, Edward Baker (Jacquline), Nicholas Baker (Sharon), and Tonya Baker James (Mark); one sister, Shirley Wilson (Donald "Real Deal"); brother, Johnny Baker (Barbara), and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. Funeral services are Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Monroe, LA. Visitation is Friday, November 17, 2023, 1:00 - 6:00 PM.
