No Struggle, No Progress

Mrs. Robert "Bobbie" Jean Lee Reflections

Mrs. Robert Jean Winters Lee was born on November 16, 1944 to the union of the late Mrs. Annie Mae Nelson Winters Burrell and Mr. Mack Winters, Sr. On November 5, 2023, her Master beckoned, and she obediently answered His call. She was the only daughter of three children. "Bobbie", as she was affectionately called, began her walk with the Lord at a young age. She was baptized at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Allen. She later united with the Rose of Sharon Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J. B. Brown. "Bobbie" was a faithful member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, wherein she was a teacher of the Women's Adult Sunday School Class of Esther, president of the Youth Ministry, a member of the Scholarship Committee, and a devout member of the choir. She was a 1962 graduate of Carroll High School and an alumnae of Grambling State University, where she majored in elementary education. She worked alongside her mother as the co-owner of Burrell & Lee Playschool. After her mother's death, she became the owner/operator of the Playschool. She was a true warrior for the education of children. "Bobbie" was a member and immediate past vice president of Les Martinique Civic and Social Club, a member of Business and Professional Women, Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., Monroe Chamber of Commerce Leadership Ouachita, and The Wellspring. "Bobbie" was united in holy matrimony to Millard Dean Lee. To this union, three daughters (whom they referred to as their "three jewels") were born. "Bobbie" instilled in her loved ones the joy of giving to others, whether it was of their time or talent. She was a firm believer that if she gave of herself, then her living on earth would not be in vain. The service that she rendered is reflected in the lives of those she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years, Millard Dean Lee, her youngest brother, Roy Winters, Sr., and her sister-in-law, Bessie Jackson. Bobbie's legacy will live on through her faithful daughters: Tazinski P. Lee, Tammy D. Lee Sheridan, and Tafferny D. Lee; son-in-law, Dewitt D. Sheridan; granddaughter, Khloe' Millar Lee Sheridan; brother, Mack Winters, Jr.; godson, Brandon Jackson; adopted sons, George Britton III, Kessley McNeal, and Edmund Williams; godsister, Evelyn Aubrey; brothers-in-law, Bobby Saucer (Eloise), Leo Saucer (Audrey), Anderson Jackson III and Caleb Paster (Deann); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, November 10, 2023, 2:00 – 7:00 PM in the Alice Mae Chapel of Miller's Funeral Home, 2932 Renwick St., Monroe, LA. The Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023, 11:00 AM at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, 716 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Monroe, LA.
