Life is a terrible thing to lose, especially violently. Life and its journey ends with death and can never be revived or brought back. Many are leaving too soon because of gun violence for known and unknown reasons. For young people in Monroe, LA, too many are losing their lives to gun violence. Shootings are plaguing our city with no end in sight. Every person deserves to live life in peace and not in fear. On Sunday, October 15, 2023, Alexio Cleveland was shot numerous times in Monroe, LA. Witnesses allege that the suspect was standing with bystanders upon being arrested by police at the scene of the crime. Gun violence is running rampant in the Black community.
