Celebrating Life After Breast Cancer

Survivor Tinnie Rhodes is truly a dedicated member of Celebrating Life After Breast Cancer Support Group , Always willing to participate in various activities , has served as the group driver and offers encouraging words to other Survivors. Survivor Tinnie was a group supporter before she became a Survivor. She is a nine-year survivor and did not receive any type of treatment after having a mastectomy, chemotherapy or radiation. Tinnie has not had any problem since her diagnosis. Her husband, Hughie and me are very active at our church especially with the youth. and in the community. Both are members of True Vine Baptist Church in Monroe LA where Rev. Stonewall Hunter is Pastor. They have been happily married 65 years and are the proud parents of two sons, Dwight and Frederick. They also have several goddaughters. Hughie and Tinnie are avid travelers and love camping. Tinnie is a retired teacher and the first African- American Membership Director with Silver Waters Girl Scout Council Monroe. Tinnie's encouragement to other survivors is, "Don't let cancer control you, stay active and you can control it."
