No Struggle, No Progress
Betty Ward-Cooper is announcing her candidacy for Mayor of Monroe, LA. She firmly believes that our city has been divided for far too long, and she is dedicated to fostering unity as the key to its growth and prosperity. Betty has a proven track record of collaboration, working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, spanning both the North and South sides of our city. She is a unifying force, committed to bringing our community together to tackle the issue of violent crime. Her approach emphasizes community policing, ensuring that law enforcement works closely with our neighborhoods while respecting constitutional rights. Recognizing the importance of youth development, Betty will establish programs in partnership with the city school system. These programs will offer guidance and incentives to our young people, steering them away from criminal activities. As a career educator and Monroe School Board member, she understands the link between education, poverty, and crime and is determined to break that cycle. In addition to her focus on youth, Betty will actively promote opportunities for small and emerging businesses and encourage entrepreneurship. She will drive business development and increase opportunities for disadvantaged businesses throughout the entire city, with a particular emphasis on the Southside.
Mental health will be a priority under Betty's leadership, as she champions the needs of our city's residents in this regard. She will also actively support first-time homeownership, empowering individuals and families to invest in their communities.
Betty is committed to enhancing the delivery of city services through greater accountability. As mayor, she will engage with residents semi-annually in each council district to directly address their concerns and ensure that the city is responsive to its citizens' needs. Betty's vision for our city is one of unity, progress, and improved quality of life for all. Betty's the right choice at the right time!
