Shots Fired, 911 Call,

Disclaimer: All persons are presumed until proven guilty. A Morehouse Parish woman had the kind of day that none of us would want to happen to anyone. According to local and parish officials, an incident that happened on September 25, 2023, left the unidentified female fearing for her safety. Bastrop Police said that they received a panicked phone call from the female where, during the call, dispatchers could hear yelling and gunshots in the background. When officers arrived at the address given, the alleged suspect had already gone. When they located the female, she advised them that Devontavious Wilson had attacked her. She also told officers that during the attack, she was able to flee the residence and hide in the woods when Wilson produced a handgun and started firing, forcing her to flee for her life. She said she stayed hidden until Wilson stole her vehicle and left the residence.

While officers of the Bastrop Police Department and Morehouse Parish Sheriff’s Office searched for Wilson and the vehicle, another 911 call was received stating that a male fitting the description of Wilson had arrived at Morehouse General Hospital Emergency Room. While there, the male, who would be identified as Wilson, allegedly threw a gun and a large amount of cash outside the door to the ER. Officers quickly located Wilson inside of the hospital and took him into custody. According to reports, Wilson was arrested for Attempted Second Degree Murder, Illegal Use of a Weapon, Domestic Abuse Battery, and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.
