No Struggle, No Progress
On April 28, 2017 I was awarded a golden shovel compliments of the North Louisiana Economic Partnership. The coveted shovel represented a groundbreaking partnership between Graphic Packaging International, INC. and DHL. It was phenomenal because this union would create a distributing plant covering over 29 acres of square footage on Milhaven Rd, down from Ouachita High School. That represents thousands of square feet inside two buildings and tons of good-paying jobs. It would also be the fastest-distributing plant not only in Louisiana but possibly in the United States. It would create containers that would be distributed all over the world. And it all was stationed in my district, District D. This was economic development at its finest. It took months of negotiating and years of planning. The area had to be certified and pass strenuous criteria. Other areas vied for the plant. The airport area could not pass, nor an area in West Monroe, but my area out on Milhaven Rd. certified and passed all the necessary tests. I was at the negotiating table with the property owners, with DHL, and with Graphic Packaging. Finally, the deal was done, and the rest is history. My tenure on the Police Jury is loaded with success stories like these. Whether it was the overgrown cemetery of JS Clark or the vocational medical program at Richwood High School. I look forward to serving on the Jury once again so we can continue the progressive path forged under my watch. As always, remember...I am your humble servant, and I am "dedicated to serve".
Elect Dr. Ollibeth Reddix, Ouachita Police Jury - District D, #68
