No Struggle, No Progress
I remember buying my daughters some fun lights from the circus. They loved them while we were in the arena, but when we got them home, they were upset with how they looked. They kept shining the lights in their rooms, but the lights didn’t look like they did in the circus arena; that disappointed them. What they thought was a problem wasn’t a problem at all. Their disappointment could go away with just a small change; therefore, I cut off the lights in the home, and we had a beautiful display. I had to make it dark, then ask them to shine the lights again for them to truly appreciate what had been given unto them. Sometimes, we complain about being in the dark- not knowing and not having all the answers or directions regarding what to do next. We get down and doubtful, fearful and frustrated- but God knows best. His thoughts are not our thoughts, nor our ways His ways; His are higher. He knows where He is taking us, what He has given us, and what is required to bring out the best in us; sometimes, that includes our “being in the dark” so that the light that is in each of us can shine best. You may be in a dark place right now, wondering what to do next. The answer is: Trust and obey God! It may look bad, but is there anything too hard for God? We know better. God is faithful, and He cares deeply for you. Don’t allow the darkness you are in now to make you forget that you are a light. The light of the world, Jesus, our Lord and Savior- is inside of you. Is it dark? Good! It only means that you are about to shine like never before. Matthew 5:14-15
