Bloody Clash

Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is always advisable to settle a dispute as amicably and as soon as possible can be done. Far too often, disagreements or disputes can escalate quickly, making any resolution practically impossible. Disputes usually start verbally and can quickly turn violent with one wrong word or gesture. A local man is behind bars for allegedly being accused of committing a violent act that drew blood from someone. According to a recent report by Monroe Police, officers responded to a disturbance call to Kenilworth Drive in Monroe, LA, on September 1, 2023. When officers arrived, they were advised by the unidentified victim and witnesses that 75-year-old Lucius L. Johnson allegedly struck the victim in the mouth with a knife, according to the report. Officers also observed that the victim was bleeding heavily from the mouth, as a trail of blood was leading from the victim's apartment to Johnson's apartment. Officers went to Johnson's apartment, where contact was made with the alleged suspect. When officers made contact with Johnson, he allegedly advised them that he had hit the victim with a closed fist. The physical altercation was allegedly over the victim becoming involved in a verbal argument with Johnson's cousin. According to the report, the cousin allegedly entered the victim's apartment without permission from the victim. Officers had already seen blood coming from the mouth of the victim and the bloody trail, but they also observed blood on Johnson's fist. The victim was transported to a local hospital, and Johnson was placed under arrest. He was charged with Second-Degree-Battery. There are three sides to every story. This was one side of this story.
