Mother Daughter Conflict

Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Relationships between adults can sometimes become complicated. After all, grown people know what they want and how they will go about doing what they want. Relationships between a parent and the child should be about who has the authority in the household. Even those relationships can sometimes take a bad turn. A domestic disturbance between a mother and her daughter landed the woman in jail after she allegedly beat and strangled her daughter. Police arrested 38-year-old Agilia D. Wimberly following an argument. According to an arrest report, police said the mother became physical after a verbal altercation with the daughter. Words were exchanged after the daughter allegedly said that she was pregnant and that she was also vaping without the mother's consent. As the alleged verbal altercation escalated, the mother allegedly slapped the daughter across her face and then used a closed fist to punch her. The altercation allegedly continued as the mother was said to choke the daughter to the point where it was difficult for the daughter, who was described as the victim, to breathe. According to the report, the daughter was able to escape from her mother and ran to her grandmother's house, who lived close by. At the grandmother's house, contact was made with authorities. Fire Department officials also responded with authorities to the scene and treated the victim, who suffered a swollen lip, a bleeding lip, and a bleeding ear. Police advised the mother of her rights, and she allegedly admitted to abusing her daughter. Wimberly told authorities that her daughter was being "very disrespectful" to her. She also said that the incident was the first time something like an altercation had happened between them. Wimberly was booked with Domestic Abuse Battery with Strangulation.
