No Struggle, No Progress

Forgive Them Anyway

“Forgive” sounds like a curse word to those who have been hurt or victimized. It brings an uncomfortable feeling to those who use unforgiveness as a shield. They don’t realize that unforgiveness is a false refuge. Hopefully, I can use this article to encourage a healthier view of forgiveness. It is so important that we forgive- especially if we want to be forgiven. Unforgiveness has no pros, but many cons. It holds us back. It keeps us in chains. It keeps us sick and bitter. It creates barriers and roadblocks. Why would anyone want to hold on to that toxicity? The walls many have built in unforgiveness, to keep others out, have become an entrapment for them. It has become an enclosed space of misery. Don’t allow unforgiveness to rob your life any more than it already has. Forgive whomever you need to. Forgive, not because you’re saying they’re right, but because you are righteous. Forgive because you love God more than you hate what people have done to you. Forgive, even if the one who needs forgiveness is yourself.
