Charles Ross's Memory Cherished

Charles Woodrow Ross was born in Ouachita Parish, LA on November 28, 1934 to the late Woodrow Ross and Christine Smith. He accepted Christ at an early age at Little Flower Catholic Church and attended Little Flower Academy in Monroe LA. where he achieved numerous accolades, graduated with honors and was the Salutatorian of his class in 1952. Charles entered the United States Air Force in 1953. After several tours of duties, he moved to Chicago, IL and worked in several industrial plants until he returned to the Monroe area in 1969. He gained employment with Olin Kraft (now Graphic Packaging, International) and work for 30 plus years until retirement in 1997. In 1988, he met and married Bennie Lee Williams of Monroe, LA and to this union no children were born. Their love would span 35 years of marital bliss. His was loyal husband, loving father and dedicated friend. Charles had a passion for travelling and was a fan of all sports and one of his other favorite pastime activities was "Texas Hold 'Em Poker." Charles is preceded in death by both parents and son, Morris Rochelle Ross. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife; Bennie L. Ross; Monroe, LA, four sons – Charles Ross, Jr. (Desounthia), Jacksonville, FL; Anthony Hammond, (Laonga); Walter LaVelle Ross, and Bruce Elmer Ross, all of Monroe, LA; two daughters – Christina Joshua and Rosalind Lumpkins both of Monroe, LA; eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and host of family and friends. Funeral services are Friday June 23, 2023 at 11am at Little Flower Catholic Church 600 S. 16th St. in Monroe LA. professional services are entrusted to Hester Central State Funeral Home in Monroe LA.
