Please be careful while reading the poem that will follow this brief introduction because it is laced with some powerful truths that might cause some to become alarmed. In light of all the protests that we have witnessed over the past years expressing our frustration with the senseless murders of unarmed black men by the police, I wrote this poem to encourage us to take some responsibility for how we treat each other which negatively influences the way others view and treat us.
